Cecil John Smart, 75, of Gainesville, MO died peacefully at his home surrounded by his loved ones on April 24, 2025. He was born July 31, 1949 in Gainesville, one of 11 children born to Kreth and Murtle Smart.
He was a graduate of Gainesville High School before serving in the U.S. Army from April 1969 to April 1971, then spent one year in the reserves. He loved to go hunting and fishing with his daughters and grandkids; and enjoyed doing anything outdoors.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Phyllis Smart; his two daughters, Lisa and Felisha; and two grandkids Briar and Aspen.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
