September 17, 2025, marked the passing of Cheryl Ann Eacret, a 63-year-old resident of Gainesville, Missouri, at the Hospice House of the Ozarks. A native Californian, born in San Jacinto to Milton and Anita Eacret, her formative years were spent relocating between Naval bases with her five siblings. Upon her father’s retirement from the Navy in the early 1970s, the family made Gainesville, MO, their permanent home.
Cheryl’s primary role evolved into that of a caregiver very early on in her life, deriving fulfillment from caring for others, as evidenced by her experience as a CNA, her ownership of a daycare, and her unwavering commitment to her family. Cheryl’s purpose was exemplified in her dedication and devotion to her loved ones.
Cheryl also had an affinity for water, and any opportunity to spend time with her family at the beach, lake, or river brought her immense joy. She cherished any gathering where she was surrounded by those closest to her. She was an avid fan of horror movies and crime series, and her reactions while watching either one were always more entertaining than what was happening on the screen. Her playful nature, quirky comments, and magnetic personality made her a constant source of laughter for her grandkids, nieces, and nephews. Her legacy will be marked by the unforgettable memories she created, characterized by her hilarious facial expressions, outbursts, and good-natured orneriness. She will be missed most by those who called her Grammy.
