Clint “Bruce” Long

Clint Bruce Long, 80 of Mtn. Grove, MO passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2022 with his loving family by his side.  He was born on May 6, 1942 in Mtn. Grove the son of Goldman and Cleo (Mosier) Long.

He grew up in Mtn. Grove and joined the Navy in January 1960, proudly serving his country until receiving his honorable discharge in May 1963.  During his service to his country he married the love of his life, Sharon Kay Hoffarth on June 21, 1962 and to this union one daughter was born to join their son.

Bruce and Sharon operated Long’s Express for many years.  He drove over the road until retiring with one of his many accomplishments being awarded with driving over a million miles accident free.  After retiring from driving he started and operated Long’s Lawn Service until his health began to fail.  He was baptized in 1991.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Sharon Kay; brother, Marshall; sisters, Thelma Dobies, Ruth Short and Lois Adamson and his son-in-law, Gary Eugene Stigall.  He is survived by his daughter, Jackie Stigall of Mtn. Grove; his son, Don and wife, Jeannie of Pontiac, MO; sister, Exa Rutherford of Lewisville, TX; mother-in-law, Florence Hoffarth of Mtn. Grove; grandchildren, Nathan Looper and wife, Jennifer of Waynesville, MO, Jeremy Looper and wife, Michelle of Greenville, TX, Beth VanGilder and husband Schuyler of Thompson Station, TN, Jared Emery and wife, Ashley of Lebanon, MO, Stephanie Martin of Lebanon, MO, Amanda Pridemore and husband, Zach of Hartville, MO, Shane Stigall of Ava, MO and Kayla Meierotto and husband, Josh of Oakes, ND; 23 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren and numerous other friends and family.  He will be missed by everyone that knew and loved him
