Edward “Ed” Dwane Potter

Edward Dwane Potter, 79 years, 2 months, 13 days old, passed peacefully to  meet Jesus on January 14, 2022 at his home with his girls and family by his side.

Ed was born October 31, 1942 in Douglas County, MO to Orvil James and Effie Irene (Porter) Potter.

Ed was a retired Supervisor and Lead Man from working 28 years at Hutchens Industries out of Mansfield, MO.

On July 12, 1964 Ed and Ina Jean Satterfield were united in marriage at Girdner Church by Rev. Tom Johnson and they were blessed with seven daughters. Ed later married Minnie King on May 11, 1996 and were blessed to be married for many years. Minnie preceded in death in 2017.

Ed was a Christian and attended the Girdner Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and his music. Ed adored his family and friends and loved to be with them all the time!

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Minnie, two brothers, Leonard and Donald Potter and his daughter, Julie Freeman.

Ed is survived by his six daughters and their spouses: Debbie  & Larry Clements, Lorie & Bub Coonce, Ronna & Shannon Long, Tillie & Adam Fowler, Wendy & Brandon Tetrick, and Sarah Potter & Ryan Miller, 20 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, his siblings: Robert Potter, Leon Potter, Ronald Potter, Paul Potter, Doris (Pinckney) Baten, Margie Dobbs, Pearl Atchison and James Potter, many nieces, nephews, host of relatives and many friends.

Funeral services for Ed will be Thursday, January 20,  2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO with burial following in the Girdner Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday prior to the service at 12:30 p.m.

Officiating will be Brother Ray Dobbs and Brother Bub Coonce. Family requests memorials to Girdner Cemetery.
