Funeral Services for Georgia Ann Bell, Age 99 of Salem, Arkansas will be held on Monday, February 9th, 2026 at The Salem Church of Christ, Salem, Arkansas. Interment will take place after the service in The Morriston Cemetery, Salem, Arkansas.

Georgia Ann Bell, age 99, passed away on January 26, 2026, in Salem, Arkansas. She was born on April 1, 1926, in Anthony, Kansas, to George S. Loomis and Julia Arda Loomis of Wakita, Oklahoma.

The oldest of two children, Georgia helped care for the home while her parents worked to provide for the family. She was more a friend than a big sister to her younger brother, Emmitt Eugene Loomis.

Georgia married Kermit Remil Bell, and together they lived across the country due to his work with Boeing, ultimately retiring in Salem to be near the farm where he grew up. Georgia worked in many industries throughout her life, including as a bank teller, jewelry store clerk, and ward clerk at the hospital in Salem. She later served as church secretary at the Salem Church of Christ.

She was known for her exceptional skills as a homemaker. A wonderful cook and baker, she was especially admired for her crocheting and handmade quilts, which earned her numerous blue ribbons at the Fulton County Fair and the Arkansas State Fair. Many of her creations will continue to be treasured by her family.

She is survived by her children, Katheryn Holyfield, Mary Bell, and Jim Bell; her grandchildren, Troy Bell, Ginger Shockley, Tony Rix, Sarah Rix, Brian Bell, and Latitia Bell; 10 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Kermit Remil Bell; her brother, Emmitt Eugene Loomis; her daughter, Linda Kay Mattis; her granddaughters, Angela Kay Messenger and Shaunna Rene Lieb; and her great-granddaughter, Kayla Rix.
