Harold Eugene Chamberlain, 78 years, 10 months, 4 days old, passed peacefully to Heaven on July 24, 2023 at home with his family by his side.
Gene was born September 20, 1944 in Ava, MO to Charles and Kathleen (Bowman) Chamberlain.
He was a Christian and a member of the Highway Church of the Nazarene in Ava.
On December 25, 1962 Gene and Linda Stout, his Angel Baby, the love of his life were united in marriage at Ava Assembly of God and together were blessed with three children.
Gene was an electrician who owned and operated B & A Electric Co. in Springfield, MO for several years. He worked long hard days. He enjoyed going to the lake every weekend that he could. He loved fishing and hunting. He and Linda loved traveling with family to the mountains. Gene’s favorite time of the year was Christmas and to take his family tree hunting all over Douglas County! His joy was his family and his many pets.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Charlene Jump; brother-in-law, Lee Menzie; and one great grandbaby.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; his three children and their spouses, Doug & Shelly Chamberlain, Greg & Patti Chamberlain and Cindy & Brian Letsinger; eight grandchildren, Ryan & Becca, Reagan, Landon & Robin, Lacey & Josh, Lindsey, Luke & Bethany, Grant & Amanda and Coleton; 13 great grandchildren and one on the way; one sister, Donna Menzie; one sister-in-law, Ellen Pruiett, his brother-in-laws, Ronnie Stout, Jay Stout, Donnie Pruiett and Bobby Jump; extended family and many friends.
Funeral services for Gene will be Friday, July 28, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO with burial following in the Vera Cruz Cemetery, Ava. Visitation will be Friday prior to the service at 10:00 A.M.
Officiating will be Pastor Brian Letsinger and Pastor Buddy Boyd. Family requests donations be made to Vera Cruz Cemetery.
