She passed peacefully on December 17th after an extended stay in hospice, with her daughter Tammy by her side. She was able to say goodbye to her beloved grandchildren and the friends she held dear.

Inez lost her mother at the age of two. Her father later remarried, and she was raised in a large blended family of twelve, an upbringing that shaped her resilience, generosity, and lifelong devotion to family.

She wed Alva Trowbridge on May 28, 1945, and together they shared more than fifty years of marriage. Throughout their life together, they answered a shared calling to ministry, serving congregations in Missouri, Oklahoma, and Kansas.

In 1970, they joyfully welcomed Tammy Lynn, age seven, into their family through adoption, an act that reflected their deep faith, compassion, and commitment to family.

Inez was an avid quilter, a talented seamstress, an accomplished cook, and a devoted gardener. Her hands were rarely still, and her creations, whether stitched, baked, or grown, were gifts she generously shared with others.

Ever adventurous, Inez and Alva later embraced the opportunity to open a candy store in Hartville, Missouri, where they also pastored, blending service, community, and joy in everyday life.

She is survived by her daughter, Tammy, of Hutchinson, Kansas; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Sadie, of Arkansas, and Linda, of Florida, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of more than fifty years, Alva Trowbridge; her grandson, Daniel Webster; and nine siblings.

Donations in Inez’s memory may be made to Hospice House in Hutchinson, KS.
