James Joseph Shoemaker Jr, 77, of Theodosia, MO passed away on August 2, 2024 at his residence. He was born February 28, 1947 in Chicago, IL to James Joseph and Rita Shoemaker.
As a young child, James moved with his family from Chicago to Erie, PA. After his high school graduation, James went to college where he received his bachelor’s degree. James was united in marriage to Doris Ellen (Johnson) Shoemaker. Doris left her earthly home in August of 2023.
While James and Doris raised their two sons, they followed his work with IBM (International Business Machines) living in several states including Connecticut and Florida. Upon James’s retirement in 2003, the couple moved to the Ozarks and made their home near Theodosia, MO and Bull Shoals Lake. James loved to fish and work in his garden.
James is survived by two sons Michael Shoemaker of Theodosia, MO and Steven Shoemaker of New Hampshire; one brother Doug Shoemaker and wife Carol of Chicago, IL; and one sister Barbara Lehman and husband Neil of Philadelphia, PA.
No services are planned. Cremation services are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
