Janet Ann Younger of Willow Springs, MO passed away Friday, April 25, 2025, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Jim Bailey of Exeter, MO. Both of her daughters were by her side. She was born July 14, 1933, in Sterling, CO and was 91 years old.
Janet married William Younger Sr. on May 3, 1952. To this union five children were born, 2 daughters and 3 sons. They served in Derby, CO for a short time before moving to Brighton, CO where they lived for 4 ½ years. They then moved to Exeter, MO where they lived in Thomas Hollow for twelve years. They then moved to a dairy farm near Willow Springs, MO. They lived on the farm for 28 years until they retired. They built a house outside of Willow Springs and she has lived there since. Janet was a seamstress, sewing many beautiful quilts, she loved embroidery, wood crafts, and her flowers. She was a 4-H leader, a member of the PTO, and Thomas Hollow Extension Club for 12 years, and continued the Extension Club at Willow Springs. Janet and William loved camping, boating, and woodworking together. They traveled to 48 states and Canada.
Janet was preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, William; her parents, Otto Sr. and Mary Sewald; her son, Lesslie Younger; her granddaughter, Christy; and two great grandsons, Tyler and Dakota.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Ann Bailey and husband, Jim of Exeter, MO, and Debbie Friga and her husband, Kem of Pomona, MO; Two sons, William younger Jr. of Exeter, MO, and Jesse Younger of Seymour, MO. She is further survived by 18 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
A visitation for Janet will be held at Willow Funeral Home, LLC. from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, April 29, 2025. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at the Willow Springs City Cemetery with Father Nick Newton officiating.
