JoAnn Jenkins, 89 years, 3 months, and 20 days old, passed away on May 22, 2022 in Springfield, MO with her family by her side.
JoAnn was born January 30, 1933 in Ava, MO to Charley and Elsie (Burlison) Miller.
In the year of 1953 JoAnn and Verlin Jenkins were united in marriage, and they were blessed with three children, Susie, Kenny and Pam.
JoAnn was retired from working at Rawlings Sporting Goods in Ava, MO. She cherished the lifetime friendships she made there.
She was a Christian and of the Baptist faith. She attended various churches in the Ava area. JoAnn loved to travel, and some of her favorite trips were to the Smoky Mountains and Florida. She was also known to enjoy an occasional trip to the casino with her family. She loved cooking and hosting dinners for family and holiday gatherings. She always made sure to make everyone feel at home. Her joy was always being with her family!
JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents; her three brothers Doyle, Johnie, and J.D. Miller; her two children, Susie Hart and Kenny Jenkins; her grandson-in-law, Jeremy Rains; and her sister, Peggy Bonham.
She is survived by her daughter, Pam Gerleve and husband, Larry of Springfield; son-in-law, Sam Hart; grandchildren & their spouses, Niki & Jared Null, Amie Rains, Misty Hart, Tyler Jenkins, Ashley Gerleve, and Lance & Kym Hart; great grandchildren, Jade, Hailey, Gage, Dylan, Macie and Ramsey; two brothers and their spouses, Charley & Glenda Miller, Larry Joe & Marsha Miller all of Ava; one sister, Betty Elliott of Blue Springs, MO; many nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services for JoAnn will be Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at 10:00 A.M. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO with burial following in the Denney Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, May 30th from 5:00 to 6:00 P.M. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Buddy Boyd. Memorials may be made to Denney Cemetery.
