Memorial Services for Joy Stewart Jones, Age 85 of Mountain Home, Arkansas will be held on Wednesday, December 3rd, 2025 in The Lake Forest Senior Living Chapel, Mountain Home, Arkansas, beginning at 1:00 PM.
Joy Stewart Jones, 85, of Mountain Home, Arkansas passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at Lake Forest Senior Living in Mountain Home. She was born on April 12, 1940, in El Paso, Texas to Judson Dunaway and Billie Francis Stewart. She attended Texas Western College, now UTEP, in El Paso. She married Dr. John F. Jones on July 22, 1961, in El Paso. They then moved to Marion, Virginia where they made their home for 42 years. They were married until John’s passing on May 31, 2024.
She had a great faith in Jesus and served her Lord in any way He called her. They attended Marion Baptist Church where she was youth minister for many years. She accompanied John on mission trips to Guatemala, Tanzania, Antigua, Honduras and St. Lucia. She and John retired to Ft. Myers, Florida. Later they moved to Mountain Home, Arkansas to be near to their daughter, Jo.
Joy is preceded in death by her parents, J. D. and Billie Stewart; her husband, Dr. John Jones; her son, Jeff Jones; her brother, Pat Stewart and one brother-in-law, John Taylor. She is survived by her daughter, Jo Pierce (Bill) of West Plains, Missouri; her brothers, Sonny (Christy) Stewart of Katy, Texas and Mike (Donna) Stewart of Kansas City, Missouri; her sisters, Susan (Phil) Matocha of Montgomery Village, Maryland and Dita Taylor of Roswell, New Mexico and numerous nieces and nephews.
