With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Laura Lynn (Phillips) Martin, who was born in Centerville, Iowa, on December 27, 1957. The Lord called her home on Monday, December 22, 2025, one week shy of her birthday.
Laura was born with muscular dystrophy. Despite this, she managed to graduate from Liberty High School, get married, and raise her son. Laura enjoyed flowers, animals, and quilting and sewing in her younger years. Laura was baptized at Forrest Dell Church, and we take comfort in knowing she is no longer in pain and resting in the arms of Jesus.
Laura was preceded in death by her parents, Orvill and Lorene (Hodge) Phillips; her sister, Linda Reeves; and her brother, John Phillips.
Laura is survived by her husband, Melvin; her son, Kenneth, and daughter-in-law, Becky Martin, all of Mountain View; her brothers, Bill and Bob Ross; and her sister, Margaret Work
