Madeline A. Horne, 81, of Salem, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2026, at her home with all of her family by her side. She was born on December 5, 1944, in Dyess, Arkansas, to Leonard Argo and Edwina (Jones) Argo.
Madeline was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose life was centered around caring for those she loved. A devoted woman of the Methodist faith, she was known as a giver and a hardworking woman who never hesitated to help others. Her kindness, strength, and generous spirit touched many lives throughout the years.
She found joy in the simple things that made life meaningful—watching football, farming, gardening, and spending time at the lake. Above all, Madeline loved her family and treasured every moment spent with her children and grandchildren. Her home was filled with love, laughter, and the warmth she shared so freely with those around her.
She is survived by her three daughters, Stephanie Wynne (Tad) of Etowah, Arkansas, Rachel Griggs (Quentin) of Salem, Arkansas, and Brenna Hudson (Cody) of Jasper, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Stevie Lewis, Wesley Griggs (Amanda), McKenzi Stokes, Micah Stokes, and Corbyn Williams; and three great-grandchildren, Addison, Easton, and Jackson. She is also survived by her sister, Terry Jean Eason of Inlet Beach, Florida; and two brothers, Leonard Argo Jr. (Susie) of Lepanto, Arkansas, and Hayden Argo (Shirley) of Olive Branch, Mississippi.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Bessie Lou Johnson.
Private services will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
