Mark Kevin Lancaster, son of the late Eugene and Hazel (Gruver) Lancaster, born August 2, 1958, in Des Moines, Iowa, and departed this life August 25, 2025, at his home in Mansfield, Missouri, at the age of 67 years and 23 days.
Mark grew up in Des Moines, Iowa, the oldest of seven children. He left home after high school, working his way across the country, where he lived in several different places, including Hawaii and Jackson, Wyoming, before settling in Ozark, Missouri. It was there he met his wife, Renee, and they were United in marriage on October 17, 1997. Mark and Renee lived in Ozark, Missouri, until 2003, when they moved to Hartville, Missouri, where they raised their three children, before moving to Mansfield, Missouri 2023.
Mark accepted Christ in 1999, and although he did not attend church, he loved the Lord and could discuss spiritual matters and the Bible for hours, and lived out a Christ-like life of generosity and compassion for anyone in need.
Throughout his working career, Mark worked various construction jobs, leading him to help build not only several homes, but also many lifelong friendships. Mark made friends everywhere he went. He was the kind of person who could turn a quick trip to the grocery store into a several-hour ordeal because, in every aisle, he would run into someone he knew and had to stop and visit. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, reading, watching old western movies on repeat, and recently got into gaming.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Hazel Lancaster, and his six younger siblings.
Mark is survived by his loving wife, Renne Lancaster, of the home, two sons, Chance Lancaster and wife, Shatona, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, Jacob Lancaster of Mansfield, Missouri, three daughters, Jessica Johnson and husband, Ricky, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Richelle Thomas and husband, Brian, of Mount Airy, North Carolina, Ashley Lancaster and fiance, Kodie Johnson, of Ava, Missouri, 11 grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and many close friends.
Mark was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He leaves behind many friends and family, and he will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
