Mark Raymond Wouk

Mark Raymond Wouk, born on July 8, 1959, in Berwyn, Illinois, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2024. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend.

Mark married Deanna Renee (Walker) Wouk on February 16, 1980, in Springfield, Missouri. The two shared a deep connection, having met in elementary school, and spent their lives together building a family and a home filled with love.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Eugene Wouk and Alberta Rose (Bona) Wouk; and his wife, Deanna.

Mark is survived by his daughters, Katie Sutherland and Jennifer Wouk; as well as his siblings, Susan (Wouk) Saavedra, Kurt Wouk, Bart Wouk, Sandra Wouk, and Wade Wouk.

Mark was one of the first in his family to complete a college degree, earning a degree in Computer Science, which he proudly utilized for over 40 years to support his family. He was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to his loved ones.

In his free time, Mark had a passion for motorcycles, often embarking on long, scenic rides. He also enjoyed collecting various objects, including coins, pocket watches, guitars, and motorcycle parts, each with its own story and significance.

For about ten years, Mark and Deanna worked tirelessly on what they affectionately called their “money pit,” creating their dream home, a testament to their shared vision and commitment to one another.

Mark’s warmth, humor, and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience.

A family guided memorial service will be held on October 12, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Church of the Nazarene, 300 W 4th St, Mountain View, Missouri. All are welcome to come and celebrate his life. Memorial contributions may be made in Mark’s memory to a motorcycle charity like B.A.C.A., BikerDown, Motorcycle Relief Project, or a charity of your choice.
