Funeral services for Mary Jane Swisher, Age 79 of Ava, Missouri will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026 at 2:00 PM in the Thornfield House of Prayer in Thornfield, Missouri with burial to follow in the Thornfield House of Prayer Cemetery. Visitation will be 1:00 PM to service time. Officiating will be Pastor Stan Collins.
Mary Jane Swisher, 79 years, 2 months, and 19 days old, passed away on, January 6, 2026, at Cox Medical Center South, Springfield, Missouri.
Mary was born October 17, 1946, in Ozark County, Missouri to George Thomas and Mary (Strong) Hayes.
She was a Christian and a member of the Thornfield House of Prayer Church.
She enjoyed word searches, reading her Bible, attending church activities, and Dean Z concerts.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; son, Tommy Swisher; brothers-in-law, B.Y. Huskey, Wesley Willis, and Roger Huskey.
Mary is survived by her children and their spouses; Mary Allen, Edith and Russell Stark, Andy and Gina Swisher, and Jennifer Hall, nine grandchildren; Dustyn, Christy, Nikki, Nathan, Benny, Katlyn, Nathan, Caleb, and Hudson; fifteen great-grandchildren; five siblings, Geraldine Huskey, Judy Huskey, Jesse Willis, Barbara and Bob Smith, and George and Sherry Hayes; a very special friend, Jan Linder; and many other relatives and friends.
