Funeral Services for Michael “Mike” Norman, Age 68 of Salem, Arkansas will be held on Tuesday, January 6th, 2025 at The Doty Family Funeral Home, Salem, Arkansas, beginning at 2:00 PM. Burial will be in The Salem Cemetery, Salem, Arkansas.
Michael “Mike” Norman, 68, of Salem, Arkansas, passed from this walk of life on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at his home.
He was born in Franklin, New Jersey, on July 22, 1957, son of the late Edgar Charles Norman and Mildred Marie (Scott) Brashier.
At the age of 18, Mike joined the United States Army where he was stationed at Fort Dix in New Jersey. He was a Private 1st Class and trained marksman.
Mike was united in marriage to Teresa Marie Sparks on March 19, 1977, at Palmer Park Church of God in Detroit, Michigan, and together they raised three children. Raising his three children with his supportive wife, Teresa was one of his biggest accomplishments. Mike loved his family. His family and their accomplishments were something he held near and dear to his heart. He was so grateful that he was able to attend the graduation of his wife, daughter, sons, and grandson, Dakota. He loved to watch Dakota play football, and his granddaughter, Cheyenne play soccer and achieve so much in the sport.
Mike graduated from NASA Fiberoptic Telecommunication and was the supervisor for Fiberoptics Technology. He worked for Soss Manufacturing building auto motors. Mike attended Ozarka Technical for mechanics and truck driving. Upon completion of his trade at Ozarka, Mike went on to own and operate Norman Trucking. Mike was of the Assembly of God/Pentecostal faith. He enjoyed his time at Salem Church of God with the PYPA youth from 1979 until 1988.
Mike enjoyed hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed teaching Dakota how to shoot and going hunting with his boys.
He was a member of the Local Iron Workers Union, United Trucker Association and Iron Workers of America.
Mike is survived by his wife Teresa Norman of Salem, Arkansas; son Michael C. Norman, Jr. and wife Rhonda of West Plains, Missouri; daughter Crystal M. Tomlinson and husband Eric of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; grandsons Makaden Norman of Gassville, Arkansas, Dakota Tomlinson of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Braxtin Wrestler Norman of Mountain Home, Arkansas and granddaughters Cheyenne Tomlinson of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Halie Norman, Kelsey Norman, Laynnie Norman and Allie Norman all of West Plains, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his son Darren Lee Norman; mother Mildred “Millie” Brashier; father Edgar Norman.
Pallbearers include: Michael Norman, Jr., Dakota Tomlinson, Cody Cox, B.J. Sparks, Brandon Sparks and Roman Mabes
