From the late ’70s thru the ’80s Mike had become an accomplished machinist and enjoyed a successful career.

Mike knew love and had been married several times. In 1994 Mike had his only son Nick Rubeck. The apple of his eye.

When Nick was a few years old, Mike moved from Illinois to Mountain View, Missouri.

Upon arrival in Missouri, Mike worked for a lawn mowing company and local sawmill. It was there that he made many lasting friendships.

One solid friendship was between him and Mike Sanchez. Mike S., his wife Kristina, and their four children became very close. They referred to each other as brothers from another mother. Together they shared many holidays, birthday barbecues, and the ups and downs of life.

As Mike’s health declined, his green thumb did not. Mike brought his love for gardening from Illinois to Missouri. Here, he had a container garden off his patio. His green thumb was noticed by the community, so much so that he was even recognized by the Mountain View Garden Club for his impressive tomato plants.

Mike is survived by his son Nick Rubeck; nephews, Matt (Amy) Rubeck and Jay Rubeck; nieces Angie (Curt) Ward and Jill (Brian) Hick; and several great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilson and Ruth Rubeck, and two brothers Jim and David Rubeck.

Mike was loved by many and will be missed.

Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Mountain View, Missouri. Condolences may be expressed at www.yarbermortuary.com.
