Peggy Louise Moore was born April 15, 1958, at Lajes Field, Azores Islands, Portugal. She was the daughter of Lee “Buck” James and Erma Rosenbaum Ledgerwood. She departed this life on October 7, 2025, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of 67 years. Peggy was united in marriage to Andy Moore on February 15, 1975.
She is preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Lorraine “Lori” Elizabeth Ledgerwood and Kathy Warren.
Survivors include her husband, Andy; daughter, Sandy (Andy) Dailey; son, Jason Lee Moore; brothers, Howard (Lora) Ledgerwood, Roger Ledgerwood, and Curtis (Louise) Ledgerwood; and sisters, Patsy Ledgerwood and Margaret Sechrest. Nanny Peggy, as she was lovingly known, is also survived by her grandsons, Eli Moore and Cason Dailey; her special granddaughters, Korie Lind and Jayci Matthews; as well as numerous nieces and nephews who knew her as Aunt Peg. She was a grandmother and mother figure to so many others who all held a special place in her heart.
Peggy was a dedicated mother and grandmother. She was also a dedicated teacher at Liberty Middle School and truly cared for and loved her students and coworkers. Peggy had many achievements in life, but she was most proud of receiving her Master of Science in Education from Southwest Baptist University and numerous awards recognizing her dedication to being an educator. She loved attending football and baseball games and supporting her Liberty Eagles. She loved the water and enjoyed lots of summer trips to the beach and pool, and she was always up for a trip to the river to go fishing. Heaven has most certainly gained an angel, and we will miss her in this Earthly life until we are all surely reunited again.
