Rena Cox, 90, of Isabella, MO was born to Frank and Georgia Barnett Shockey on March 13, 1930 and passed away January 29, 2021 at Gainesville Nursing Home.
Rena lived most of her life in Kansas City and Macon Missouri and returned a few years ago to the Isabella Area. Rena worked in the Nursing field in Kansas City Missouri with her sister Macy and helped take care of many nursing home patients herself. She always enjoyed sewing and crochet and made many beautiful things. She loved animals and porcelain dolls. On a humorous note, she enjoyed going for rides and driving her car, sometimes a little too fast. She was not so use to the curvy roads of the Ozarks as she was the straighter roads of Northern Missouri. She would always tell those stories of going a little too fast with a laugh and a grin. She enjoyed life and was always smiling. Rena was loved and will be missed. We have the Promise of Eternal Life through Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Rena was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Georgia, daughter Brenda, and nine siblings, Mae, Janie, Rae, Macy, Burt, Orville, Tilford, Alan, and Clarence. She is survived by her son Gerald Piland and family, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
No services are planned. Cremation services are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
