Robert “Bob” Leon Baumgardner

Robert Leon Baumgardner, 96 years, 7 months, 27 days old, passed away on October 28, 2021 at the Spring Valley Health and Rehab. in Springfield, MO from a brief illness.

Bob was born March 1, 1925 in Hannibal, MO to Archie and Goldie (Grove) Baumgardner.

He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and served during World War II. He served on the Mendora and Lexington Air Craft Carriers in the South Pacific.

Bob was united in marriage to Reva Wright and they were blessed with one daughter, Patty.

Bob was a retired construction builder. He was a resident of Ava for several years. He loved being with all his friends in his hometown of Ava.

He also enjoyed riding horses, hunting and being in the outdoors. He was a member of the Troy Herd American Legion Post 112 in Ava. He was a Christian. Bob adored his family, especially his grand and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Reva, his daughter, Patty, his brother, Jerry and sisters, Lucille Dimos, MableMay Turley and Mary Williams.

Bob is survived by his step-son and wife, Zachary & Karen Frazier of Springfield, MO, granddaughters; Kristen and Marisa, great grandchildren; Shyla, Gabriel, Luna, and Ella, special nephew, Jimmy Dimos, and all his friends in Ava.

Memorial services for Bob will be Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO with military honors by the Troy Herd American Legion Post 112 at the funeral home. Officiating will be Rev. Oren Alcorn.
