A celebration of life service for Stephen Alan Mitchell, 69, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2p.m. Saturday, August 16, 2025 at First Presbyterian Church of West Plains.
Mr. Mitchell passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at Ozarks Healthcare.
He was born February 29, 1956, at Frankfurt, Germany, to George Mitchell and Mabel Bostick. On August 28, 2010, he was married at Branson, Missouri, to Elizabeth Laporre. Stephen was a paramedic and a volunteer firefighter for many years. He enjoyed shooting guns, sailing boats, and cooking, which he was very good at. He had a dry sense of humor, and loved laughter. Mr. Mitchell loved his family deeply and found great joy in caring for others.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Mitchell, of the family home; one daughter, Gewel Niebaum and husband Brian of Lee Summit, Missouri; three stepchildren, Ezmeralda Niebaum, Uston Delos Santos, and Remali Delos Santos; 1 former daughter-in-law, Cassie Delos Santos; two sisters, Patricia Trout of Colorado, and Julia Azua of Las Vegas, Nevada; two nieces, Carroll, and Jennifer; four nephews, William, Raymond, Nicholas and wife Erin, and Benjamin; and eleven great nieces and great nephews.
His parents preceded him in death.
