Tamala Kay Wright

Tamala Kay (Yates) Wright, also known as Tammy, Baboo, Timmy, and Tink, was born May 23, 1970, to Melba Kay (Allen) Pedersen and James Dale Yates in Birch Tree Missouri. She went to be with our Heavenly Father on March 21, 2025, at the age of 54 years, surrounded by her loved ones in West Plains, Missouri.

Tammy was married to her high school sweetheart, Wade Allen Wright on May 7, 2014, and to this union, she helped raise son Dru and daughter Remi as her very own whom she loved with all her heart. Tammy made friends wherever she went. She worked at many of the factories and nursing homes in and around our community until she found the job she loved the best, working at OMC in West Plains Missouri as a CNA.

She enjoyed the outdoors, the rivers, creeks, and the ocean, Spending time with her loved ones and her grandbabies always brought a smile to her face. She loved sitting on the porch in the spring and listening to the peepers down at the pond and the whippoorwills singing to their loved ones as she would say, and watching butterflies. Tammy loved collecting her frogs and “Peace, Love, and Frogs” was a favorite saying of hers.

Tammy loved the Lord and would pray daily for her friends and her loved ones. Tammy and Wade attended the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Birch Tree Missouri. She loved the people and everything about the church. Tammy was baptized by her best bud Kevin Murphy, who held a very special place in her heart, on June 15, 2024, and asked Jesus into her heart and gave her life to him. Tammy loved her family and friends with everything she had. She was always willing to lend a helping hand where she could. She touched many lives in the short time she was here. Tammy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, cousin, and friend. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family who love her.

Tammy is survived by her husband of the home Wade Allen Wright of Birch Tree, MO; children, Dru Wright and Remi Wright of Washington State; mother, Melba K. (Allen)Pedersen of Birch Tree MO; second mom, Dora Yates from Bunker, Mo; two brothers, Kelly Wayne Pedersen of Birch Tree MO and Rowdy (Hannah)Yates of Bunker MO; three sisters, Christina Renee'(Kevin) (Yates) Murphy of Birch Tree MO, Laura (Jon)(Yates) McLain of Farmington, MO, and Elizabeth Yates of Bunker, MO; several aunts, uncles, nieces, Nephews, cousins, grandkids, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her dad, James Dale Yates; maternal grandparents, Charles and Martrell Allen; paternal grandparents, Dorothy and James Yates; several aunts and uncles on both sides; and many other family and friends.

A family-guided Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Birch Tree, Missouri. Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Birch Tree, Missouri. Condolences may be expressed at www.yarbermortuary.com.
