Funeral Services for Thelma Pauline Briggs, Age 96 of Hartshorn, Missouri will be held on Monday, May 4th, 2026 at The Bradford Funeral Home, Summersville, Missouri, beginning at 1:00 PM. Visitation will precede the service, beginning at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in The Antioch Cemetery, Hartshorn, Missouri.
Thelma Pauline Briggs was born May 28, 1929, in Hartshorn, Missouri, to George and Arvillia (Edgmond) Brown. She departed this life on April 29, 2026, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of 96 years.
On August 31, 1946, Thelma was united in marriage to Aubrey Briggs. To this union, three children were born: Sherrian, Keith, and Kevin.
Thelma grew up in Hartshorn and came from a large family of ten children. She and Aubrey moved to St. Louis shortly after they married, and after Aubrey’s retirement, they returned to Hartshorn in 1979. After returning, she worked at Mtn. View Fab and retired in 1991. She also worked at Lee Rowan in St. Louis for 20 years.
She attended Summersville Church of God and faithfully read her Bible.
Thelma enjoyed the quiet things in life. She loved flowers, gardening, and took great pride in mowing the yard. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. She always enjoyed cooking for others and was well known for her fried chicken and her caring nature, having spent much of her life as a caregiver to others.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Arvillia Brown; her husband, Aubrey; her daughter, Sherrian Puckett; her brothers, Kenny, Denver, Ervin, Earl, and Norman; her sisters, Fern and Margie; and two half-siblings, Stan and Judy.
She is survived by her sons, Keith Briggs and Lisa, and Kevin Briggs and wife Cheryl; her son-in-law, Cloyce Puckett; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Everett and Lonnie, and a half-brother, Cliff; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
Thelma will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
