Virginia Lee Parker

Virginia Lee “Vee” (Pippin) Parker was born in Middlebrook, MO on October 30, 1936 and departed this life in Mountain View, MO on February 2, 2026 at the age of 89 years. Vee was the daughter of Irwin E. Pippin and Jewell E. Pippin Pitre. On July 7, 1955 she was united in marriage to her husband of over 66 years, Donald Lee “Don” Parker. Don and Vee were the best of friends, sharing a deep and evident love throughout their life together. They were blessed with two daughters, Kaye Lynn and Deanna Sue “Dee”.

Vee was a devoted Christian and a faithful member of the West Eminence Christian Church for many years and later attended the Eminence Baptist Church until her passing. Her faith in Christ was the foundation of her life, and she relied on Him in every season. She consistently saw the good, choosing to hope amidst hardship, and often reminded those around her, “What will be, will be.”

Vee was known for her kindness and a joy that filled up any room she was in. She was always generous in life and accepted everyone with open arms and an open heart.

During Don’s twenty-year career in the United States Air Force, Vee embraced a life of travel and change, making a home wherever they were stationed. She stayed active in the base wives’ clubs, forming lasting friendships along the way. She was also an excellent bowler and took pride in the game. In her younger years, Vee enjoyed time at the lake and playing cards. She had a lifelong love of reading, especially mystery novels, and could often be found with a book close by, finishing them almost as quickly as she picked them up.

A wonderful cook and a devoted mother, Vee’s greatest love on this earth was her family. Known lovingly as “Nana,” she carried that title with deep pride and joy. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the center of her world, and she poured her love into them wholeheartedly. Next to her faith in Jesus, nothing mattered more to her than her family.

Vee was preceded in death by her husband Don, her parents, and her brother Jerry Pippin. She is survived by her daughters Kaye Akers (Tom) of Eminence, and Deanna Barton (Mike) of Birch Tree, grandsons David Akers (Jill) of Morton IL, and Billy Barton (Vanessa) of Caledonia MO and granddaughter Jessica Mabry (Preston) of Van Buren MO, seven great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Vee will be missed terribly by all of her family, and also by the many who knew and loved her.
