Wanda Marilyn (Webb) Duncan , 92 years old, passed from this life into the arms of our lord and many of her loved ones on Father’s Day, June 16, 2024.
She was born the fifth of five children on January 29, 1932 in Mountain View, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eldon and Vergia (Smotherman) Webb; three brothers, Paul, Robert, and Buel; and one sister, Annalue Duncan.
She shared fond memories of her youth in Teresita, Missouri with her grandfather and grandmother Smotherman, and her farm life at the “old Hannah house.” She married her husband, Charles Dewayne Duncan, soon after he returned from the Merchant Marines. They spent 67 wonderful years together. They have two children, Lesley Call of Monterey, CA and Britt Duncan of Mountain View, MO; seven grandchildren, Tracy Call, Katherine Call-Davis, Michael Call, Patrick Call, Kevin Call, Ryan Duncan, and Jennifer Duncan; and four great-grandchildren, Kingston Call and Carter, Colin, and Jillian Davis.
Soon after she married, she and her husband left for Springfield to attend Missouri State University together. After that, her husband’s job with Boeing took the family to many parts of this beautiful country. Eighteen years later, they returned to St. Charles where she spent over 20 years working for Western Union. Finally, when both were retired, Wanda and Charles began to spend their time back in the place they called home, Mountain View, Missouri.
