A sports marketing agency says only 53% of the major sports events originally scheduled for 2020 are likely to take place this calendar year due to the coronavirus outbreak.
According to new projections from the agency, just 26,424 sporting events will be held by the end of 2020, with the possibility that more are canceled as the virus spreads.
And because of this… the global sports industry will generate just $73.7 billion in revenue in 2020. That’s $61.6 billion less than the projected revenue before the outbreak.
