The Associated Press announced the finalists for the 2025 MVP award. Christian McCaffrey, the San Francisco 49ers running back, made the list alongside four quarterbacks: Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills, Trevor Lawrence of the Jacksonville Jaguars, Drake Maye of the New England Patriots, and Matthew Stafford of the Los Angeles Rams.
McCaffrey’s inclusion is especially notable because he’s the only non-quarterback finalist in the group, reflecting his huge all-around season where he rushed for over 1,200 yards and caught more than 100 passes.
McCaffrey isn’t just up for MVP — he’s also a finalist for Offensive Player of the Year and Comeback Player of the Year.
Winners will be revealed at the NFL Honors ceremony on Feb. 5, where a panel of 50 media members will choose the top performers from the 2025 season.
