Bears lose by nine in Game one of Sparta Trojan Invitational to Blue-Eye

Willow won the tip and immediately got a 3 to take advantage of the ball game. Blue-eye quickly answered back with a bucket to establish their place in the game. Very quick offenses from both teams to start the game. The score was already almost double-digits after 1 minute. There wasn’t much defense from either team but both teams definitely knew how to score. After every bucket the lead would change signaling that the game was going to be a close one. The first quarter ended 18-15 with Willow taking the lead. The second quarter opened up with a steal from the bears and made a three to go up by six. Blue-eye came back after a timeout and a hit a three as well to get back in the ball game. Blue-eye then went on a run to catch the lead over the bears. A very high-scoring game and still not a lot of stops from either team. The second quarter ended 32-28 with Blue-eye taking the lead to go into halftime.

The second half opened with a turnover from the bears to give Blue-eye an early bucket. But the bears managed to make a couple of stops to catch back up. The scoring slowed down a little in the 3^rd quarter. The defense was improving from both teams making it harder to score. Both teams were getting steals and some great rebounds to try and stop the offensive pressure. The 3^rd quarter ended with a score of 43-37, with Blue-eye taking the biggest lead in the game so far. The 4^th quarter opened up with a turnover this time from Blue-eye with willow making a great defensive stop. The bears turned the momentum up late in the game coming back trying to gain the lead back from the Bulldogs. Blue-eye’s offense was very impressive In this ball game, willow had some trouble trying to stop them. The Bears tried a full court press to try to cut the lead back down with a couple minutes left in the game. Blue-eye called a timeout to try and calm down the energy and sustain their lead. The Bulldogs tried to run the clock out to finish the game. But the bears were not going to give up. The final score was 62-53, with Blue-eye taking the win.
