The St. Louis Cardinals opened up their series against the Athletics with a 6-4 win from Sutter Health Park. St. Louis scored four runs in the top of the first and led the rest of the way. JJ Wetherholt homered in the victory, while Jose Fermin drove in a pair of runs. Andre Pallante earned his fourth win after allowing three runs on four hits in five innings. The Cardinals are in third place in the NL Central at 24-and-17. Matthew Liberatore starts for St. Louis against the A’s tonight.
