Cardinals 8, Mets 7

Nolan Arenado came through in the clutch to lead the Cardinals to an 8-7 win over the Mets at Citi Field. Arenado hit a go-ahead home run in the top of the ninth to break a 7-7 tie, and Jordan Hicks closed the door in the next half-inning to pick up his second save. Arenado had two home runs in the victory, while Paul DeJong and Jordan Walker also went deep. Drew VerHagen earned his fourth win in relief. St. Louis took two-of-three in the series, but the Cardinals remain in last place in the NL Central at 29-and-43. St. Louis starts Jack Flaherty against the Nationals this afternoon.
