The Kansas City Chiefs say they’re aware of social media allegations of domestic abuse made by an ex-girlfriend of wide receiver Rashee Rice and are in communication with the NFL as the situation unfolds.
The woman posted on Instagram claiming she endured years of mistreatment during their long relationship, including alleged abuse while pregnant, being left outside in freezing temperatures, and property damage — though she didn’t name Rice directly. Photos were shared as part of her statement. The team declined further comment and Rice has not publicly responded.
This comes as Rice had already faced legal trouble recently — he pled guilty last year in a hit-and-run case, served a six-game suspension, and was ordered to jail time and probation.
The Chiefs say they’re gathering information, but no charges have been announced in connection with the abuse claims.
