Chiefs begin training camp in St. Joe

The Kansas City Chiefs launched their 15th training camp in St. Joseph on Tuesday, celebrating the signing of Trey Smith to a landmark four-year, $94 million deal. Smith, once a sixth-round pick, overcame medical setbacks to become the league’s highest-paid guard.

Smith’s signing of his four-year deal was quickly followed by defensive end George Karlaftis extending his contract through 2030. Karlaftis expressed his commitment to Kansas City, highlighting the team’s sense of togetherness.
