Chiefs finish day 4 of training camp

Matt Nagy is back as the Kansas City Chiefs’ offensive coordinator after a head coaching stint with the Chicago Bears. Nagy came back to the Chiefs last year as quarterbacks coach and was elevated to offensive coordinator with the departure of Eric Bieniemy in the offseason. So far, Nagy is quite encouraged by what he’s seen from the Chiefs' high powered offense so far in training camp.

The most notable absence at Chiefs training camp so far has been that of star defensive tackle Chris Jones, who has not yet reported to camp as he works out a new contract.
In the meantime, players like George Karlaftis, Derrick Nnadi, and newcomers Charles Omenihu (Oh-Men-Uh-Hugh) and Daniel Wise have gotten reps with the first-team defense in Jones’ absence. Karlaftis says that entire group is working hard.

Karlaftis, now a second-year pro, says he feels a lot better this year compared to last.

Known as the Greek freak, Karlaftis had seven total sacks last year, along with seven pass deflections and two fumble recoveries. The Chiefs have the day off Thursday (today). They'll take the field in full pads on Friday morning at 9:15.
