The St. Louis Cardinals managed just four hits in an 8-0 loss to the Chicago Cubs at Busch Stadium. Erick Fedde was charged with his seventh loss after surrendering seven runs on eight hits in three and two-thirds innings. St. Louis is in third place in the NL Central at 44-and-37.
Garrett Hampson made his Cardinals debut starting in center field before moving to shortstop and tossing a scoreless inning in his second career pitching appearance.

Andre Pallante starts for the Cards against Chicago this afternoon. In other club news, the Cardinals placed outfielder Jordan Walker on the 10-day injured list yesterday with appendicitis.
