The Liberty Eagles played host to the (13-9) Doniphan Dons on Monday night ahead of another big week of Basketball as District play starts only a week away.
1st Quarter: Both teams tie up early at 4-4 up until Paxton Hunter & Draydon Wells bring the Eagles up to a 12-6 lead.
Doniphan is able to rebound the ball at least two more times as Tyler Lowery and Corey Hagood drive in several shots for two.
Meanwhile Liberty is able to out rebound the dons and lead by ten at the end of one, 20-10.
2nd Quarter: Cooper Holden and Alex Tune come into the ballgame for Liberty as Parker Tune shoots two more field goals as Liberty goes up by six more. Lowry continues to be the leading scorer for Doniphan as he makes their first field goal. Lansing Todd comes in right behind Lowry as he makes the next three for The Dons.
Parker Tune makes two more three pointers for Liberty nearing the end of the half.
HALFTIME- Liberty Eagles: 38/ Doniphan Dons: 22
3rd Quarter: Coming out of Halftime, Liberty continues struggling to control Tyler Lowry for the Doniphan Dons as he makes two more three pointers. Parker Tune and Draydon Wells dominate on defense and are able to get several steals.
Towards the end of the third, Liberty was outrebounded even more as they were in the first half as Lowry, Todd, and Hagood for Doniphan combined for six more three pointers.
Doniphan outscores Liberty, 24-10 as Liberty holds the lead by ten, 56-46 at the half.
4th Quarter: Liberty picks up the pressure on defense causing Doniphan some fouls early in the fourth. However, the game continues to be a dominant free throw shooting game.
Doniphan comes back by twenty after Parker Tune makes two more threes. Lansing Todd scores and shoots on at least two more floaters and goes to the line to complete a three point play late.
Parker Tune scores his 1000th career points as a two pointer and leads Liberty back into outrebounding The Dons.
Liberty is also in some foul trouble however. They continue to make great three point plays but overall ball control falls apart.
Fouls end up being what shoots Doniphan down in the end as Liberty wins the matchup by a Final of 76-62.
