The first Girls state rankings have been released by the Missouri basketball coaches association. And locally making the list in class 2 Norwood is ranked 3rd, in class 3 Willow Springs Lady Bears are ranked 5th Class 4 Doniphan is ranked #1 and in class 5 West Plains Lady Zizzers are ranked 8th.
Area school-aged youth are invited to participate in Grizzly Basketball Christmas Camp Dec. 29 and 30 at the West Plains Civic Center. The morning session from 9 a.m. to noon, the all-day session from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. All sessions will be divided into groups based on the participants’ skill levels, All equipment for the camps will be provided, with the exception of personal attire. Campers are encouraged to bring their own ball with their name on it, but a ball can be provided, if needed. Participants also should bring their own water bottles, and those who are participating in the all-day camp should bring their own sack lunch. Some Local teams will compete in the Blue and Gold in Springfield that starts the day after Christmas. In the Gold division Willow Springs plays Branson on the 26th at 1230 game will air on KUKU 100.3, Hartville will play Spokane at 6pm, West Plains will play Greenwood at 8pm game will air on KDY 102.5 and Ava will face Ozark at 930. Local teams in the Blue division Mountain Grove will face Miller at 8pm on the 26th.
The Cabool Holiday Tournament will get under way on Dec 26th at Cabool top seed is Bunker Liberty received the second seed and the third seed went to Mansfield. The Blue and Gold tournament is set as well and it starts on Dec 26th as well and the tope three seeds in the Blue division are. #1 Rogersville the two seed went to Willard and 3 seed is Republic. Gold division top 3 seeds are #1 Nixa and Hartville picked up the 2 seed and the 3 seed is Ozark.
