The Family Pharmacy Panther Classic got under way last night in Mountain Grove and the one seed Hartville Eagles defeated Willow Springs Bears 70-16, game two saw Norwood knock off Licking 60-52, game three the home team 7 seed Mountain Grove Panthers upset the 2 seed Forsyth Panthers 79-75 the final game of the night put the 3 seed Liberty Eagles up against the 6 seed Marshfield Bluejays, Liberty picked up the win 75-51 and Congratulations to Terrell Gaines for breaking the All-Time Leading Scoring Record for the Liberty Eagles. The record was previously set by Kevin Irving with 2,119 points who played from 1985 – 1989. Gains finished the night with 32 points. Round two will get under way Thursday with Willow Springs playing Licking at 4pm. The game will air on the Fox 969. At 530 Forsyth plays Marshfield, then at 7pm Hartville plays Norwood game will air on the Fox 969 and 830 match up with Liberty vs Mountain Grove game will air on 969 The Fox.

The Missouri men’s basketball team held Texas A&M to just 28.8 percent shooting, but the hosts were able to take advantage of 37 free-throw attempts to earn a 63-57 victory on Tuesday night. Graduate Sean East II led the Tigers with 17 points and five assists, while junior Tamar Bates registered his ninth-straight game in double-digit scoring with 16 points.

 

The St. Louis Blues scored a pair of goals in the third period of their 4-3 come-from-behind win against the Calgary Flames at Scotiabank Saddledome. Jordan Kyrou tied the game at three with a goal in the seventh minute of the frame, and Brandon Saad knocked in the game-winner with under 50 seconds left in regulation. Saad had two goals in the contest, while Brayden Schenn also lit the lamp. St. Louis has won its last two games.
