The Lady Liberty Eagles are the 2024 Lady Tigers Invitational Champions! They defeated the Willow Springs Bears 68 to 50. Reagan Wells, Hadley Chowning, and Ella Phipps were named to the All Tournament Team also making the all tournament team Chloe Jones, and Aspin Atwell from Willow Springs Emma Skogland, Jesse Keith, Raegen Henry, Hannah Gibbons and Addison Ridenour.
Mizzou is hiring Corey Batoon as Defensive Coordinator. Batoon, 55, held the same position at South Alabama the past three seasons. He has coaching experience at Ole Miss and Arkansas St. plus other schools outside the southeast. He spent the 1996 season coaching at the University of Central Missouri.
The West Plains High School boys and girls wrestling teams competed in the Ozark Conference tournament over the weekend with several individuals earning all-Conference honors. For the girls: Madyson Melvin–4th place Nikeshia Davis–3rd place Madyson and Nikeshia earned the girls all Ozark Conference team selection. On the boy’s side: Colten McGuire–4th place George Fisher–3rd place Cooper Darnell–4th place Shane Curtis–3rd place All four boys made all-conference team honors. In two weeks, the West Plains boys’ and girls’ teams will compete in the District Tournament with top finishers moving on to the state tournament.
