The Houston High School Volleyball team forfeited their district championship by breaking MSHSAA by-laws when three of Houston’s players participated in a co-ed volleyball tournament hosted by a hospital foundation that helped raise money for breast cancer awareness. The by-law reads —”a student shall neither practice nor compete as a member of a non-school team or as an individual participant in organized non-school competition in that same sport.”
