The West Plains Lady Zizzers took on the undefeated Carl Junction Bulldogs in State playoffs. These are top two teams in the state and both teams play very defensive. This set the tempo of the first quarter, with the Lady Zizzers getting an edge over the Bulldogs and ending the quarter ahead, 9 to 5. Carl Junction, looking more comfortable against the West Plains defense, took the lead in the second quarter and the ballgame stayed close at halftime with the Lady Zizzers trailing 17 to 19.
The third quarter started off with a big run for the Carl Junction Bulldogs. The Bulldogs got 8 points ahead of the Lady Zizzers before West Plains went to close the point gap. The third quarter ended with a lead for the Bulldogs, 27 to 32. Most of the fourth quarter, Carl Junction prevented West Plains from making a basket while only increasing their lead. Only with less than 2 minutes on the play clock did the Lady Zizzers begin to put points on the board in the fourth quarter. The game ended with the second defeat of the Lady Zizzers this season, 33 to 41.
Again, the West Plains Lady Zizzers lose to the undefeated Carl Junction Bulldogs, 33 to 41.
