The Liberty Eagles Boys Basketball team was on the road for their first Basketball season to Couch. A lot of adrenaline on the surface as much of the team contributed to the Eagles historic, 10-3 season which ended this past Saturday.
1st Quarter: Liberty Eagles will control the tip as they take it down the court and get an early foul call allowing Alex Tune to shoot two free throws early on. Couch Indians get two offensive possessions as Lance Morey and Dylan Larsen get two point shots. Eagles will take an early 5-7 lead.
Alex Tune is the star so far in the First Quarter as he has a three pointer plus two free throws.
Another foul on The Couch Indians and Carter Ellett also gets two free throws as they now lead Couch, 13-6.
Rebound Couch Indians and a rebound and a spin in for two by Senior Coy Amik. Alex Tune for The Eagles will take it back trying for a three.
Alex Tune gets another three however after The Couch Indians lose it out of bounds.
This will end the Quarter with Liberty leading by ten, 18-8.
2nd Quarter: Two more plus a lone free throw by Lance Morey for The Couch Indians. Rebound Liberty Eagles with two more by Carter Ellett as the Score is now, 20-11.
Couch Loses it again out of bounds after another Jumper by Amick. as Alex Tune will get an easy layup. Rebounded by Titus Jester and he scored his first three. Jester quickly gets two more as he scores another baseline jumper after Couch’s next turnover.
Couch will go into a bit of a hole as far as scoring as about two minutes passes and this allows Alex Tune to shoot a three.
Finally a three by Couch by Dylan Larsen.
Couch will turn it over once more after another three by Lance Morey
HALFTIME- Liberty Eagles: 36/ Couch Indians: 18
3rd Quarter: Junior Paxton hunter will attempt the first two pointer working the post, but neither fall. Rebound by Couch and a good three pointer by Lance Morey.
A foul call on The Indians and Parker Tune goes to the free throw line to shoot his first two points of the game, he makes both.
Picked back up by Couch and put in for two by Lance Morey.
Rebound Liberty and put up and in for three by Parker Tune, his brother Alex pushes it off the edge of the rim.
Couch getting a nice rebound of their own as Morey tries for another three, it starts to fall short but the putback by Coy Amick.
Quarter ends but not before another three by Parker Tune
Liberty keeps the lead at the end of three, 45-28
4th Quarter: Amick for the first two points in the last eight minutes for the Couch Indians, followed by three off the hands of Lance Morey.
Liberty scrambling to get a rebound, finally they do as Carter Ellett takes it back and put it up and in for two.
He completes the three point shot at the line.
Paxton Hunter for Liberty scores on a putback after another two pointer. Rebound Titus jester and put back in by Draydon Wells. Liberty now holds the lead, 60-41.
Paxton Hunter fouls out of the game, but proves to be the main defensive weapon on the night for The Liberty Eagles.
Eagles hold the Couch Indians to at least a 15 point margin. They win the matchup by a Final of 60-47
