The Liberty Eagles traveled to Mizzou Arena, Site of The Show Me Showdown where they faced the 27-2 Principia Panthers for Semifinal Action in The Final Four.
1st Quarter: Trip controlled by The Liberty Eagles. Ball stolen away but Quintin Coleman for The Principa Pirates and puts up the first shot.
Ball knocked away from the Liberty Eagles as Principia stays with the ball. But shot is no good by Coleman. Taken back by Liberty for the first shot by Parker Tune.
A three on the rebound for Principia by Coleman. Ball taken back by Liberty and a turnover by Paxton Hunter and the three is no good on the rebound by Coleman.
A foul on Liberty and Quintin Coleman for Principia shoots two free throws. Principia leads 7-2 with 5:29 to go.
Another foul sends Jaedyn Jones for Principia to the line as the lead increases to 9-2. Alex Tune on the rebound for Liberty who passes to Parker Tune but a foul on Jones for Liberty.
Liberty is handling intense double teaming as Tune tries to penetrate but is stolen away again by Coleman who passes Junior Wyatt Slay for two more.
Liberty with another turnover after Alex Tune loses it on the rebound. Gassim Toure with a steal and the next bucket for Principia. But a steal and two more by Parker Tune for Liberty. Tune gets the next steal after Coleman misses a shot and scores two more.
Next possession: Parker gets close to the rim and is fouled. Short baseline jumper after the two free throws by Wyatt Slay for Principia.
Another foul on Liberty and two more free throws for Principia, the first points Senior, Ron Henry Jr. for Principia.
Wyatt Slay on the pickup after ball is lost again by Liberty and scores two more.
Alex Tune on the next foul for Principia shoots two as Principia leads, 22-6 with 48.6 seconds to go. Tune makes both- 22-8
Gassim Toure on the rebound for Principia brings the ball down the timeline and scores the next dunk. Passes to Carter Tune who scores one more floater before the quarter ends with Pricnipia leading 24-10.
2nd Quarter: A 6-0 by Principia starting as Toure, Coleman, & Sissu for Principia all score. Liberty not having any luck scoring on the early possessions.
A three by Alex Tune is blocked and answered back by Coleman for Principia. Jaedyn Jones with the next three for as Liberty still has not gotten a look, period.
Ron Henry Jr. shoots as Liberty makes another foul and a rebound by Draydon Wells as Liberty is being able to block shots but no shots inside. [
Parker Tune finally with a fadeaway shot with 3:10 to go in the half. But taken back and a jumper by Junior, Sekou Sisse.
A blocked shot by Draydon Wells as Sisse tries to shoot but ball continues to stay with The Panthers.
Liberty has been outrebounded 14-6 with under 2:00 to go.
A turnover by Principia but turned back over and picked back up for two more by Junior Wyatt Slay for The Panthers. Coleman drives in a shoots for the last shot as Principia leads the Liberty Eagles, 46-12 at the half.
3rd Quarter: Liberty gets the basketball to start the second half as Draydon Wells tries for a shot but taken back and a three by Junior Wyatt Slay for The Principia Panthers.
A foul on Principia sends Paxton Hunter to the Line for Principia, Paxton makes both.
Rebounded by Quintin Coleman for The Panthers and goes up and in for two. A pickup by Liberty as ball comes off of Slay for The Panthers as they get another block on offense. A pass from Carter Ellett to Paxton Hunter falls short, a near putback shot by Paxton Hunter but lost again. Foul on Paxton Hunter as Wyatt Slay shoots two more. Liberty gets another look for a jumper on the rebound as they are having some easier luck on offense but still just as many steals.
Freshman Majok Ater shoots his first two points from the line on the next foul for Liberty.
A three by Alex Tune falls short on the rebound and is stolen right back by The Panthers as Senior Jaedyn Jones scores the next shot.
Foul and Jones goes to the line for two more as Principia leads Liberty, 58-20 with 1:30 to go in the Third.
Rebounded by Principia and a putback shot is good Sesse. The first three of the game for Liberty is good by Parker Tune on a steal but answered back by Sesse for Principa.
Principia leads the Liberty Eagles, 63-25 at the end of Three.
4th Quarter: A floater is put in by Paxton Hunter to start the fourth but stolen and a Sekou Sesse gets the first two free throws for The Panthers in the last eight minutes. –
Most of Principia’s starters are off the floor in this half but Liberty is only having about 10% of the luck they didn’t have back in the second.
Paxton Hunter with another rebound and jump shot but a steal and a jumper by Ater for The Panthers.
Titus Jester tries a three on the next rebound but is blocked and taken back by Principia as Sophomore Jorden Hubbard scores the next shot.
Graham Tune, the freshman for Liberty with a rebound and the next shot for Liberty.
Liberty just couldn’t matchup on either Principia’s size or intensity.
