The St. Louis Cardinals let one slip away in Washington, giving up six runs in the eighth inning of a 9-6 loss to the Nationals. St. Louis had a three-run lead before the bullpen faltered. Ryne Stanek and Matt Svanson combined to give up three homers in the eighth. Jordan Walker and Ramon Urias each homered in the loss.
