NFL Draft Preview

Kansas City Chiefs General Manager Brett Veach says fans will be in for a treat Thursday night during the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft from Pittsburgh. With the broad speculation that Las Vegas will select Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza, Veach says that, without another franchise quarterback available, this draft is wide open.

Veach says the offensive line class is good, but not one player particularly sticks out. The case can also be made for edge rushers, as how they shake out in the draft could be different from mock drafts because they all grade out close to the same.

The Chiefs have several areas to improve upon, not only the offensive and defensive lines, but also the cornerbacks and wide receivers.

Coverage of the NFL Draft begins Thursday at 7 p.m. on ABC, ESPN, and the NFL Network.
