NFL: Packers’ Aaron Rodgers Takes ‘Responsibility’ for ‘Misleading’ Vaccination Status Comments

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was back on The Pat McAfee Show for his regular appearance yesterday and he said he was ready to move on from debating COVID vaccines. 

He said he knows he is a role model to a lot of people and acknowledged that his remarks could be considered misleading. Rodgers said, “I made some comments that people might have felt were misleading. And to anybody who felt misled by those comments, I take full responsibility.”

Rodgers stands by what he said Friday, and added, “Hate isn’t going to bring us out of this pandemic and I’m not gonna hate on anybody who has said things about me.”

Rodgers, who tested positive for COVID last week said he is feeling “really good.” He said he believes there is only a “small possibility” that he’ll miss the Seattle Seahawks game this weekend. However, as an unvaccinated player, he will have to follow strict protocols.. 

He said, “I made decision that was in the best interest based on consulting with my doctors. And I understand that not everybody is going to understand that necessarily. But I respect everybody’s opinion.” 

Rodgers said he’s “an athlete not an activist.”

Rodgers hasn’t been reading what has been written or said about him lately. He’s ready to move forward and talk about football.
