Reds 7, Royals 4

The Cincinnati Reds took down the Kansas City Royals 7-4 in the interleague series opener at Kauffman Stadium. Tyler Stephenson led the way at the plate for Cincinnati, going 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs. Starting pitcher Nick Martinez earned his third win after allowing three runs on six hits through seven innings. The Reds have won two of three to sit at 27-and-28. Salvador Perez hit his fourth homer for Kansas City. Michael Lorenzen was charged with the loss. John Rave made his major league debut and played right field, going 0-for-2 with a walk and two strikeouts as the Royals dropped to 29-and-26.
