The Royals closed out their series against the Braves with a win in extra innings. Kansas City defeated Atlanta 1-0 in a 10-inning battle at Kauffman Stadium. Salvador Perez drove in the game-winning run on an RBI single in the bottom of the 10th. The team tied a major league record by using nine pitchers in the victory. Sam Long earned his first win after throwing one scoreless inning of relief. The Royals have won three of four to reach 54-55. They visit the Toronto Blue Jays tomorrow night.
