The West Plains Lady Zizzers are headed to the state class 5 final four this weekend and fans will have the opportunity to give them a grand sendoff. The team will depart West Plains High School at noon Thursday. The bus route will be Howell to East Main to the square. From there the bus will travel to Broadway to Porter Wagoner Boulevard. Fans are welcome to wave along the route and businesses are encouraged to present signs along the way to express support. West Plains will play Smithville in the semifinals at noon Friday at JQH Arena on the campus of Missouri State University in Springfield. Lady Zizzer games in the state final four will be broadcast on Hot Country KDY, 102.5 FM and at kkdy.com.

Grizzly fans far and wide will want to make plans to attend Missouri State University-West Plains’ (MSU-WP) Grizzlies Gala: Promoting Excellence in Athletics April 8. The event will celebrate the successes of the 2021-2022 athletics season and look forward to new goals to accomplish during the 2022-2023 season, The event will begin at 6 p.m. with a catered meal and auction in the West Plains Civic Center exhibit hall. At 8 p.m., season reviews and updates from the Grizzly Basketball, Volleyball and Cheer Teams, as well as an awards ceremony and special announcements, will take place in the civic center theater. Tickets are $65 each, or a table of six can be reserved for $400. The STL Blues take on the Pittsburgh Penguins tonight pregame at 630 and the puck drop will be at 7pm all on Q94.
The Zizzers’ baseball team will play their first game of the 2022 season against Harrison, Ark., on March 18 in the Ozark Classic Tournament, after finishing 13-10 last year the Zizzers look to build off that and being a year older and stronger.
