West Plains Zizzer Varsity boys baseball team did a lot of things right yesterday to beat a good Branson team 9-0. Landon Montgomery threw a complete game shutout giving up 4 hits and collecting 9 Ks. Offensively Ethan Miller, Ryan Montgomery and Josiah Long collected multiple hits. Josiah Long went 3-3 with 4 RBIs.
Congratulations to Zizzer Golf athletes Johnny Sutherland and Ashby Wood on advancing to the Class 4 State Golf Tournament. The tournament will take place at Columbia Country Club on Monday, May 18 and Tuesday, May 19.
Lady Zizzer Basketball camp 3rd grade – 8th grade May 19-20-21st 1pm to 3pm at West Plains Middle School. 9th to 12th grade May 18-19-20 and 21st 330 to 530 at West Plains High School gym cost is 25 dollars.
24th Annual Tom Smith Sunrise Rotary Golf Classic Saturday May 23rd at North Terra Golf Course in West Plains 10am tee time. 3 person scramble 225 dollars per team. Sign your team up at North Terra Golf course in West Plains. Proceeds benefit the Rotary backpack program.
Beginning this December, West Plains will take another step forward in its proud wrestling tradition, hosting a brand-new tournament that will bring together top programs from Missouri and Arkansas. The event will carry a name that already means so much to the community the Dan Taylor Wrestling Classic.
The TCMH 20th annual 2-person golf scramble will be held on Fri June 12th and Saturday June 13th at Oakwood Golf Course in Houston. Proceeds benefit the Scholarship Program.
